Entourage door lock issue
Summary of the thread
The main issue discussed is a problem with the door contact signal on a 2006 Hyundai Entourage, where the doors won't lock or unlock using the key fob or interior switch. A possible cause suggested is a defective cable connection within the door components. The solution involved inspecting the wiring, and a local mechanic confirmed it was indeed a defective cable connection, which was then repaired.

When you mention 'door components,' are you referring to the wiring within the door itself, or is there a central module that controls the locking mechanism for all doors? I will examine the wiring, but are there any specific areas I should focus on?

Yes, I meant the wiring inside the door and the connection to the locking mechanism. It's difficult to diagnose remotely. In my case, the garage identified the defective cable pretty fast. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop if you're not comfortable troubleshooting car electrics yourself.

I inspected the wiring, but I couldn't find anything obvious. I took it to a local mechanic, and it turned out to be a defective cable connection, like you suggested. The repair cost was 95€.

I had a similar problem with my Entourage. Have you checked the cable and plug connections of the door components? It might be a defective connection. Does the car alarm work properly?
