Thanks for sharing your experience. Going through exactly the same thing right now with my 2021 Envision. The idle is really rough and that blue smoke during acceleration is concerning. My ventilation system definitely needs work, but I want to make sure I get a fair price. Would you mind sharing what the total repair cost was for your PCV valve and hose replacement? Also curious if youve had any related issues pop up since the fix?

Thanks for asking about the costs. I had the crankcase ventilation system fixed last month and the total came to 360 for parts and labor. The repair completely resolved the rough idle and eliminated that concerning blue smoke during acceleration. Since fixing the defective ventilation valve, the engine has been running perfectly with no related issues. The maintenance was worth every penny considering how much smoother the engine runs now. There have been zero symptoms returning after the fix, no more smoke, power loss, or check engine lights. Regular valve inspections are now part of my maintenance routine to prevent similar problems. The improved engine performance and elimination of oil leaks shows the repair shop diagnosed and fixed the root cause correctly. The price I paid seems fair considering the detailed work involved in accessing and replacing the ventilation components. Having a properly functioning crankcase ventilation system is crucial for preventing future engine damage.

Thanks everyone for the input. I finally got my Envision fixed last week after dealing with that frustrating PCV valve malfunction. The repair cost came to around 450 Euro total, a bit more than expected but the work was thorough. My mechanic found multiple issues in the ventilation system including a cracked hose that was causing the leak. The maintenance took about 4 hours since they had to remove several components to access everything. They replaced the PCV valve, all the connecting hoses, and cleaned out the buildup in the intake. Really noticed the difference as soon as I drove it, no more smoke, idle is smooth, and power is back to normal. Glad I got it taken care of before any serious engine damage occurred. The diagnostic test confirmed exactly what you all suggested. For anyone else facing similar symptoms, definitely worth getting it checked out promptly. The repair has completely resolved all the issues I was experiencing.

I experienced similar symptoms with my 2018 Buick Enclave last winter. The check engine light, reduced power, and blue-tinted exhaust smoke were clear indicators of a crankcase ventilation system issue. The problem turned out to be a clogged PCV valve and deteriorated ventilation hoses, which caused excessive pressure in the crankcase. This pressurization forced oil past the piston rings, leading to oil consumption and smoke from the exhaust. The maintenance involved replacing the PCV valve, all associated hoses, and cleaning the intake manifold which had accumulated oil residue. This was a serious repair that required several hours of labor since the intake manifold needed removal to access all components. The leak in the system was causing engine oil to be drawn into places it shouldnt be, potentially risking long-term engine damage if left unaddressed. After the repair, the engine regained its normal power, the smoke disappeared, and oil consumption returned to normal. Regular valve maintenance could help prevent this issue. Would recommend having a complete diagnostic test done to confirm the exact problem, as these symptoms can sometimes indicate other issues.
