Epica Sunroof Not Initialized Error

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with my 2014 Chevrolet Epica diesel. The sunroof is giving me a 'not initialized' error. Now, the sunblind is stuck, and I can't open or close the sunroof at all. Plus, the sunblind refuses to retract or extend. I suspect it might be related to some recent coding. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2014 Chevrolet Epica diesel is experiencing a 'not initialized' error with the sunroof, causing the sunblind to be stuck and the sunroof to be inoperable. The issue is suspected to be related to recent coding changes. The problem is likely a calibration issue rather than a deeper electrical fault. A suggested solution is to reset and recalibrate the sunroof system, which can be done at a workshop using a diagnostic computer. This approach successfully resolved the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Interesting. I had a similar problem with my Epica a while back. Though mine wasn't exactly coding-related, the sunroof system went haywire after some unrelated electrical work. Did you check the sunroof system's fuses and relays? Sometimes a simple power surge can cause these issues. Also, does the error message specify anything beyond 'not initialized'?

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the fuses, and they seem fine. The error message is pretty generic, just 'sunroof not initialized'. No other details, unfortunately. Could it be some sort of calibration issue, perhaps? Or is it more likely a deeper electrical problem?

Given that the fuses are okay and the error is vague, it does sound like a calibration problem. In my case, a reset and recalibration of the sunroof system fixed it. However, considering coding was performed on your car, there's a chance the settings are corrupted. I would recommend visiting a workshop. It is more than likely a quick fix to recalibrate the sunroof and sunblind using the diagnostic computer.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. They recalibrated the sunroof system, and everything is working perfectly now. Apparently, the coding messed up the sunroof's initialization. Cost me 75€, so not too bad. Really appreciate your help!
