EQC Audio System Failure

That's a bummer A similar issue with my older C-Class pointed to a few things Do you hear any static or buzzing at all from the speakers when the system is on If not it could be the amplifier Have you checked the system settings to make sure the volume isn't set to zero or muted in a submenu Does your EQC have a separate amplifier unit If that's failed it would explain the complete silence This could be related to the Bluetooth issue USB audio auxiliary input It's unlikely all the speakers blew at once

Thanks for the quick reply There's absolutely no sound at all not even a hiss or a pop I've poked around in the MBUX menus and can't find any mute settings I'm not sure about a separate amplifier unit though Is there any easy way to check for that without ripping the whole car apart Where would I typically find it Is it likely the amp even if the bluetooth issue exists

If there's truly zero sound no hiss no pop that really does point to either a completely dead amplifier or a power supply issue to the audio system As for locating the amplifier it's often in the trunk area sometimes under the floor or behind a side panel Check your owner's manual it might have a diagram Given the symptoms and your troubleshooting I'd say it's probably time to take it to a workshop They'll have the proper diagnostic tools to pinpoint the problem It could still be the amplifier and the Bluetooth issue could be a separate but related problem controlled by the same module Better to get it checked professionally before you start throwing parts at it A defective bass speaker is another possibility

Thanks I appreciate the advice I took it to the local independent Mercedes specialist and they confirmed it was indeed a defective bass speaker Apparently it shorted out and took the whole audio system down with it Replacement cost was about 280€ all in At least it's sorted now Thanks again for the help
