EQC electrical malfunction

My 2020 Mercedes EQC electric is throwing up some weird errors. I'm getting an error message and my OBD reader showed an error related to the auxiliary battery. Seems like the battery is weak when starting, and I have general electrical malfunctions cropping up now and then. My bet is the auxiliary battery isn't charging properly. Has anyone else experienced weird car electronics issues like a voltage drop on these electric Mercs?

Sounds like the auxiliary battery is the culprit. Is the error message specifically mentioning the auxiliary battery? Low voltage can cause all sorts of car electronics to go haywire, almost like a domino effect. Have you checked the voltage of the auxiliary battery? Should be around 12.6V when fully charged.

The error message doesn't directly mention the auxiliary battery, just a generic 'electrical system malfunction'. I haven't checked the voltage yet. Where exactly is the auxiliary battery located in the EQC? Is it easy to access?

That generic message makes it less obvious but aux battery is still likely. The location can vary, often it's under the hood near the main battery or sometimes in the trunk. Since it's an EQC, I'd check under the hood first. If you're not comfortable poking around or if the voltage is indeed low, better get it checked by a workshop. Could be a deeper charging issue, but a new auxiliary battery is often the fix. Better safe than sorry with these car electronics.

I appreciate the input. I ended up taking it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was the auxiliary battery. They replaced it, cost me 290€, and the errors are gone. So, electrical malfunction sorted.
