Summary of the thread
A 2015 Chevrolet Equinox experienced a cruise control failure, with the speedometer showing an error and the cruise control not engaging. The issue was suspected to be related to a defective cable or plug connection. Suggestions included checking the fuse box for a blown fuse and considering diagnostics for the actuator. Thank you for your advice. You mentioned the fuse box and actuator. Could you elaborate? Which fuse should I check specifically, and how can I test the actuator's functionality?

In my case, the root cause was difficult to determine without proper diagnostic tools. Checking the fuses related to the engine control unit (ECU) and cruise control is a good starting point. However, given the complexity of modern car electronics, I would strongly advise consulting a qualified workshop. It is the safest approach.

I appreciate your help. I took your advice and brought it to a workshop. It turned out to be a defective connection, as suspected. The repair cost 95€. Thanks again!

Greetings. I once encountered a similar issue with my Opel Insignia. The symptoms were nearly identical: error message, cruise control failure. Have you checked the fuse box? A blown fuse could also cause this malfunction. Also, consider diagnostics; the car electronics might give a hint about the actuator.
