Equus Solar Sensor Fault

Has anyone encountered a solar sensor fault on a 2010 Hyundai Equus with a gasoline engine? The heating output is consistently low, and diagnostic scans confirm a solar sensor error. I suspect a cable or plug issue.

Summary of the thread

A 2010 Hyundai Equus is experiencing a solar sensor fault, leading to consistently low heating output. Diagnostic scans confirm the issue with the solar sensor, and there is suspicion of a cable or plug problem. Cleaning the sensor did not resolve the issue, and a workshop visit is recommended to further investigate and address the fault.

I had something similar on my old Saab 9-3. The car thought it was night all the time, and the AC was blasting. Is the sensor itself clean?

Thanks. Was the diagnostic specifically flagging the solar sensor, or another HVAC sensor? I've checked the sensor, and it appears clean.

Yes, the Saab also threw a solar sensor code. I never got around to fixing it, but the shop confirmed it. Based on your description I would recommend checking the sensor itself in a workshop.

Appreciate the confirmation. I was hoping to avoid a shop visit, but it seems inevitable. Initial estimate is around 95€, so I guess it could be worse. Thanks again.
