EQV immobilizer fault

Experiencing an immobilizer fault with my 2023 Mercedes EQV electric engine with 111419 km on the odometer The engine either fails to start or starts briefly before cutting out Error memory is storing relevant faults related to the anti-theft system I suspect an incorrect key programming issue Has anyone encountered similar problems with the car electronics or remote start and can provide insight before I investigate further

Whoa that sounds familiar I have an EQV as well and I had a similar immobilizer fault issue a while back The security light was going crazy Was thinking it was the remote start playing up Have you checked the basics like battery voltage Because a weak battery can cause all sorts of weirdness with the anti-theft system and car electronics Just a thought

Thank you for your response Battery voltage is within acceptable parameters Can you elaborate on the specifics of your issue and how it was resolved I am trying to avoid unnecessary diagnostic procedures if possible

Yeah sure It was definitely an immobilizer fault The thing is even though the battery was fine something messed up the key's programming I tried a few things myself but in the end I had to take it to a workshop They re-flashed the key or something like that Honestly I'd suggest doing the same It's probably the quickest route to a fix unless you have the equipment to reprogram the key yourself

I appreciate you confirming the likely cause I took your advice and brought it to a workshop Indeed the key programming was the issue and a re-flash as you suggested resolved the immobilizer fault Final repair cost was 45€ Thanks again for your assistance
