EQV rain light sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Mercedes EQV was experiencing issues with its rain-light sensor, leading to malfunctioning auto wipers, headlights, and speedometer dimming. Bubbles under the gel pad, huh Interesting I wouldn't have thought of that I don't have diagnostic equipment to run sensor calibration myself Is that something a regular mechanic can do, or does it need specialist equipment

Yes, the bubbles are a known issue on some models A regular workshop should be able to perform the sensor calibration and confirm the fault If the gel pad is bubbled, replacing the rain-light sensor is the only fix It's a pretty straightforward job for them

Thanks so much for the tip You were spot on about the bubbles Took it to a workshop, they replaced the rain-light sensor, ran a sensor calibration, and now everything works perfectly The final repair cost was only 62€ for the part Really appreciate the help

Sounds like a malfunctioning light sensor I had similar symptoms on my EQV Check for bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield where the rain sensor is located That's often the culprit Did you try to run a sensor calibration with diagnostic equipment
