Escape Hybrid Automatic Transmission Problems

I'm officially stressed! I have a 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid, and I'm having huge problems with the automatic transmission. It's got about 70,000 km on it. Basically, it acts like it's not in Park even when it is. Sometimes the engine won't even start. The check engine light is on constantly. I've also noticed the gearbox slipping and shifting really weirdly. I scanned it and there was an error code stored. Anyone else experienced this nightmare?

Whoa, that sounds super familiar! I had almost the exact same issue with my Escape. Not the hybrid, but still… I'm betting it's a transmission sensor or something related to the gear linkage. Does it feel like it's not fully engaging in Park?

Yes! That's exactly it! It feels like it's not fully engaging. So, what was the final solution, did they replace the whole transmission, or was it just a sensor?

My situation sounds very close to yours. My mechanic mentioned something about the control unit for the transmission being potentially defective. I would say that you should go to the workshop, and they will be able to read out the error memory. At my car the parking position was defective, the repairman told me that this could easily happen to other cars with an automatic transmission.
