A cascading failure? What do you mean? And yeah, I think I'm hearing something that might be engine knocking. Anything specific I should listen for?

By cascading failure, I mean the root cause wasn't the actual issue. The mechanic checked the fuel injector and said the crankshaft was to blame, since there was consequential error. I'd suggest a workshop visit and let them check it out.

Right, crankshaft! That sounds like a job for the pros. I just got back from the workshop, and they said something similar – some issue that caused a chain reaction. They reset the computer, and now everything works fine again. The repair cost was even 0€!

I drive an Eseries too, year unknown, and I had similar symptoms: reduced engine power, higher fuel consumption, and then the light. For me, it ended up being a cascading failure. Any unusual noises?
