Eseries Oil Pressure Warning

I'm experiencing a concerning issue with my 2007 Ford E-Series with a gasoline engine. The warning light in the speedometer illuminated, and the oil pressure warning lamp keeps lighting up. The vehicle has 84867 km on it. I've checked the oil level, and it seems fine, but the oil itself appears darker than usual. Could this be a sign of serious engine trouble? I am a little concerned...

I had a similar issue with my E-Series some time ago. Have you checked when the last oil change was performed? Dark oil is often a sign that it's overdue. Does it smell burnt, too?

Thanks for the quick reply! I can't recall exactly when the last oil change was, to be honest, but it has definitely been a while. I have not noticed any odd smells. What was the issue in your case?

Yeah, mine turned out to be just that - maintenance interval exceeded. I'd get it checked at a workshop asap. Running it like that could cause some serious damage to the engine in the long run.

You were absolutely right! I took it to a mechanic, and it was indeed due to the maintenance interval being exceeded, leading to contaminated engine oil. An oil change, new filter, and engine flush later, and the warning lights are gone. The bill came to 165€. Thanks again for your help; you saved me a lot of worrying!
