Espace Air Suspension Failure

Hi, I have a 2009 Renault Espace with a gasoline engine. Recently, the air suspension seems to have given up. The vehicle won't lift anymore, leans to one side, and I get an error message on the speedometer, plus the ride is incredibly bumpy. The error memory indicates a fault with the air suspension bellows valve. Anyone experienced this before?

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my Espace. Was the leaning towards the left or right side? Did you hear any unusual noises before it completely failed? I'm thinking it's likely the bellows valve, just like your error suggests. How many kilometers are on your car?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, the leaning is towards the right side. I didn't notice any strange noises beforehand, it just gradually got worse. My Espace has 119760 km. Is it definitely the bellows valve? Did you replace yours yourself?

Okay, leaning to the right and no strange noises, plus your mileage… yeah, strongly points to the bellows valve being defective. I wouldn't advise trying to fix the air suspension yourself unless you really know what you're doing. It's a complex system and potentially dangerous. I bit the bullet and took mine to a workshop, cost around 590€ for the repair including part. Save the nerves and get it checked by a professional.
