Espace damping adjustment fault

I've got a 2023 Renault Espace, hybrid engine, and lately I'm getting a weird 'damping adjustment fault' at 128123 km. The error memory has a stored error, and there's a warning light on the speedometer. The ride's gone super bumpy! Anyone else had this? Could it be the suspension system? Any ideas before I spend a fortune to fix it?

Damping adjustment fault on a relatively new Espace isn't great. A bumpy ride and a warning light definitely point towards a suspension issue. Have you checked the basics, like the cable and plug connections to the damping components? A defective connection is the most common reason.

Cable and plug connections? Where exactly would I find those? Are they easy to get to, or am I going to need special tools? Is that something I can check myself, or am I risking making things worse?

They should be near each damper. But if you are not sure what to look for it is always better to leave it to the professionals. A faulty cable or connection is still the most probable reason, and the repair shouldn't be expensive.

For those interested, I took it to the shop, and you were spot on! It was a dodgy connection to one of the dampers. 95€ later, and it's riding smooth again. Thanks for the heads-up; saved me a lot of worrying!
