Espace Defrost Air Distribution Flap Fault

I'm experiencing issues with my 2013 Renault Espace (diesel engine). The defrost air distribution flap is faulty. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and the heating output is too low. Initial diagnostics suggest a defective cable or plug connection. Mileage is 176044 km.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Espace, though I can't recall the exact year. Have you checked the blower motor resistor? That's often the culprit with climate control issues.

I have not specifically checked the blower motor resistor. Is the behaviour of your Espace the same as mine?

Yep, same symptoms. Weak heat, error code. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. In my case, the diagnostics pointed to the flap motor itself, not the resistor, but these HVAC units can be tricky.
