Espace electrical malfunction

I'm experiencing a strange issue with my 2023 Renault Espace Hybrid. It's got about 240000 km on the clock. Recently, I've been getting a general electrical malfunction warning, along with an error stored in the error memory, and the navigation system is completely unresponsive. The workshop suspects the programming of the control unit is implausible. Has anyone else encountered something similar with their Espace or another hybrid?

Interesting. I had a comparable issue with my 2018 Audi A4. Same symptoms: seemingly random electrical gremlins, errors popping up, and the infotainment system acting up. In my case, it turned out to be a software bug in the control unit. The control unit is like the car's brain, managing various functions. Do you know if they've tried a simple software refresh yet?

Thanks for the quick response! They mentioned 'programming of the control unit implausible', so I assume they suspect a software issue. When you say 'software refresh', do you mean a simple re-flash of the existing software, or a completely new version? Did you have to pay a lot for the repair?

For my Audi, they tried a re-flash first, but that didn't fix it. Eventually, they had to install a completely new software version for the control unit. Given they suspect the programming already, I'd lean towards it needing a full version. If they messed up programming something like that from the factory that could cause all sorts of issues. Best get it booked in with Renault directly to be sure, though. Playing around with car software without proper knowledge can brick things!

Thanks so much for the advice! I really appreciate you sharing your experience. The workshop confirmed your thoughts. The control unit software was faulty and needed a complete re-programming. The repair cost 240€, but at least everything is working again!
