Yes, it could definitely be the cable connection to the pump, or even a faulty relay. I’m no expert, so I just took mine to the workshop. They told me that this is a common problem. They are specialized and have the right tools to measure the voltage and check the correct functionality.

Thanks for the advice! It turned out to be a defective connection to the pump, just like you suspected. The garage fixed it for 165€. The headlight cleaning system and the windshield washer are now working perfectly!
