Estima Blower Motor Failure

Hi, my 2006 Toyota Estima diesel's fresh air blower has stopped working. Mileage is 154798 km. The blower motor doesn't run, and there's an error stored. I suspect the blower motor is defective. Anyone else had this?

I had a similar problem with my Estima’s HVAC system. When you say error, are you referring to the air conditioning system's ECU? It monitors the AC and heater. Did the error code point specifically to the blower motor, or something more general like a problem with the fan speed controller, which regulates power to the blower motor?

Yeah, the error code pointed towards the blower motor circuit. I checked the fuses already, so I think it's either the motor or the controller, but leaning towards the motor. Did yours completely die, or was it intermittent?

Mine went completely dead. No intermittent operation. I’d still recommend checking the fan speed controller, sometimes called a blower motor resistor, but it sounds like you've narrowed it down. To be honest, I took mine to a workshop. Given the symptoms, it will probably be the blower motor, which they replaced. All in, it was about 365€, including parts and labor.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'm on the right track. I've ordered a new blower motor and will fit it. That fixed the issue, thanks again!
