Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly should I be looking for these boost leaks? And is there a way to test the electrical bypass valve myself, or is that something best left to a professional?

Checking for boost leaks can be tricky without proper equipment. You'd be looking for damaged or loose hoses connected to the turbocharger and intercooler. Testing the electrical bypass valve requires a multimeter and some knowledge of electrical circuits. Given the symptoms and your suspicion, a workshop visit might be the best course of action to diagnose the turbo actuator properly.

Appreciate the advice. Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. The electrical bypass valve was indeed defective, causing the boost pressure actuator fault. Repair cost me 250€. Runs like new again!

Sounds like a turbo issue. The symptoms you describe are consistent with a problem in the turbo system. Have you checked for any obvious boost leaks? A defective electrical bypass valve could also be the culprit.
