Etios Diesel Engine Power Loss

I've got a 2021 Toyota Etios diesel with 37636 km on the clock. Lately, the check engine light comes on, and I've noticed reduced engine power and poor engine response. There's also a whistling noise, louder hissing when accelerating, and sometimes the engine even stalls at idle. Fuel consumption has definitely increased. I suspect it might be a boost pressure actuator fault. Anyone experienced this before?

Sounds like a turbo issue. The symptoms you describe are consistent with a problem in the turbo system. Have you checked for any obvious boost leaks? A defective electrical bypass valve could also be the culprit.

Appreciate the advice. Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. The electrical bypass valve was indeed defective, causing the boost pressure actuator fault. Repair cost me 250€. Runs like new again!
