Etios System Failures Error Lights

I'm experiencing some strange issues with my 2010 Toyota Etios diesel. It has around 125847 km on the clock. I'm getting sporadic errors in driving mode and sometimes the malfunction indicator lamp lights up. I've also noticed that various systems, mostly audio/navigation, are failing. Sometimes the control units just shut down or become unresponsive. I scanned it and there is an error stored in the error memory. Any ideas?

That sounds familiar. I've got an Etios too, though not a diesel. I had a similar problem with system failures and random error lights. Have you checked the cable connections to the control unit? It might be a defective connection to the BUS system.

Thanks for the tip! Which control unit specifically? And how involved is it to check the cable connections?

I can't tell you exactly which one, but that was the issue for me. The mechanic found that it was the cable connection of the control unit. It's probably best to have a workshop take a look. They will find the defective connection to the BUS system. I think it's too difficult for someone without experience.

Okay, I appreciate the advice. I'll take it to a workshop and have them check the control unit cable connections. The error was caused by a defective connection to the BUS system. It cost me 155€. Thanks again!
