Evalia Hissing Sound and Fuel Consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Nissan Evalia owner experienced increased fuel consumption, a check engine light, and a loud hissing sound during acceleration. Suspecting an air intake system leak, particularly in the intake hose, the issue was confirmed and resolved by replacing the leaking intake hose. This fix addressed the symptoms, improving fuel efficiency and eliminating the hissing noise.

Thanks for the insight. Which specific vacuum hose are you referring to? Was the hissing constant, or only under acceleration?

I'm no mechanic so I couldn't tell you exactly which one. I just wiggled a few of them and one made the engine stumble. It was definitely worse when I put my foot down. If you're not sure maybe get it checked out? It's a cheap fix anyway.

Appreciate the advice. Confirmed the intake hose was leaking. Replaced it; cost was 100€. Symptoms are now resolved.

Hey, I have an Evalia too! That hissing sounds familiar. Did you check the vacuum hoses? When mine was doing that, turned out a hose near the throttle body had a split in it. Fuel economy went way down the drain, it was awful. Is your air filter clean?
