Evanda Rain Light Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Chevrolet Evanda owner experienced issues with the rain-light sensor, affecting automatic wiping, headlight control, and speedometer dimming. The problem was identified as bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield, interfering with the sensor's readings. The suggested solution was to have a workshop diagnose and replace the sensor, which resolved the issue effectively.

Bubbles under the gel pad, huh? I'll have to check that out. Is that something that just happens over time? And if so, what did you end up doing to fix it? Did you replace the sensor, the windshield, or something else entirely?

Yeah, the bubbles are a known issue apparently. Moisture gets in there. Honestly, I wouldn't mess with it yourself unless you really know your car electronics. You could end up making it worse. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly and give you the best solution.

Okay, that's good to know. I'll definitely check for those bubbles, and then I'll probably head to the workshop. Thanks for the advice! Turns out it was exactly what you said. Bubbles under the gel pad. The workshop replaced the sensor, and it cost me around 62€. Everything is working great now!

Sounds like a headache! I had something similar happen with my Evanda. Any chance you've noticed any bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield where the sensor sits? That was my problem. It screws with the sensor's readings.
