Everest Anti-Theft Alarm Malfunction

Good day. I'm experiencing issues with my 2005 Ford Everest, gasoline engine. The anti-theft alarm system is malfunctioning. Error memory shows a fault, and the alarm is non-functional. I suspect it's related to optical locking activation. Has anyone encountered this?

I had similar symptoms on my Everest! Did the indicators flash when you locked the car before it went haywire?

Indeed, the indicators did flash upon locking. Is that the key to the problem?

Yep, sounds like our issues are the same. If the car alarm system is coded to activate the optical locking system (indicators), it seems to trigger an error. A visit to the workshop might be needed to resolve the issue as it is likely the only way. They will likely charge you the same amount I got charged: 45€.

Thank you for confirming! I appreciate you sharing your experience. I'll book a service and have them check the anti-theft alarm system. Issue resolved after deactivation of the faulty alarm sensor and re-coding of the keys.
