Everest auxiliary heater problem

Auxiliary heater on my 2003 Ford Everest (gasoline engine) isn't switching on. Error memory shows an error. Any ideas? It's freezing!

I had a similar issue with my Everest. Does it smell a bit weird when you try to turn it on, kind of like unburnt fuel? If so, I'd be looking at the glow plug. Have you checked that?

Yeah, I think I noticed a faint smell the other day. How difficult is it to check the glow plug myself? I'm not exactly a mechanic, but I can usually manage basic stuff.

Honestly, on the Everest, it's a bit of a pain to get to. You might be able to manage, but you'll need some specific tools and a bit of patience. My advice would be to take it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly and replace the glow plug if that's the problem.

Sounds like I'll be booking it in for a check-up then. I took it to the shop and, you were right, the glow plug was defective. Cost me 440€ to get it sorted. Thanks again for the help!
