Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the sensors directly yet, mainly because I'm not sure where they all are on the Everest. Good point about the error code; I need to dig that up again. Is it easy to replace the sensors yourself, in case they are defective? I'd rather save myself some money.

Well, replacing them yourself depends on how comfortable you are taking apart the bumper. For me, it was worth going to a shop, as I am all thumbs. It turned out to be faulty wiring and it ended up costing me 95€. It's frustrating because the sensors are a clever piece of tech, but the wiring is as basic as it gets. I would say that, unless you are an expert, you should just get it done professionally before you end up breaking something else.

Thanks, that's helpful. I think I'll take your advice and bring it to the workshop. I appreciate the help and the price estimate, so I know what to expect.

Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my old Peugeot 308. The parking sensors went haywire, beeping constantly even with nothing behind me. It was like the car was constantly seeing ghosts! Did you check the ultrasonic sensors themselves? Maybe one of them got damaged or is covered in dirt. Also, what kind of error code are you getting? That could give you a clue.
