Everest power steering issue

Notchy, no, just generally vague and requiring more effort. Hydraulic fluid level is fine. Steering rack looks okay on visual inspection. The error code points towards an electrical issue. Anything specific with the cable or plug connection you had?

My issue wasn't exactly the same then, because the steering would 'catch' a bit. Given you're seeing an error code and you've checked the obvious mechanical stuff, it does sound electrical. I'd recommend a workshop visit to diagnose it properly. They have the tools to pinpoint those cable/plug problems.

Thanks, will do. Workshop visit it is. Turns out it was indeed a defective plug connection as suspected, they replaced it for 95€. Steering feels normal again.

I've got an Everest too and had something similar happen a while back. The 'spongy' feeling is worrying. Does it feel notchy at all when you turn the wheel? Have you checked the hydraulic fluid level for the power steering? Also, might be worth checking for any obvious damage to the steering rack itself.
