Everest rear window heating issue

I've got a 2003 Ford Everest with a gasoline engine. The rear window heating isn't working right, and there's an error stored. Windshield heating seems off too. I'm thinking it might be a heavily discharged or defective battery. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my Everest, but I didn't check the error memory. My rear window defroster just wouldn't turn on. Did you check the fuses? Could be something simple.

Thanks, I checked the fuses and they're fine. Could you tell me more about your Everest issue and how you fixed it?

I couldn't fix the rear defroster myself. The workshop said it was a faulty heating element, probably from a discharged battery. I'd recommend getting it professionally diagnosed, saves a lot of time.

Took it to a certified workshop like you said. They confirmed the battery was heavily discharged and damaged the heating element. Cost me about 290€ to repair. Thanks again!
