Everest Windshield Washer Heater Error

Hey, got a weird one. My 2007 Ford Everest with the gasoline engine is throwing an error. The windshield washer heater isn't working. Error stored in the error memory, and the spray nozzles are frozen when it's cold. I suspect it's just the heater, but figured I'd ask before tearing into it.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. Turned out to be a corroded connection at the fuse box. Have you checked the fuses and the wiring harness leading to the washer motor? Also, did you verify that the windshield washer heater is actually getting voltage? You might want to check the cable or the plug connection.

Good shout. I'll check the fuse box. Where exactly did you find the corroded connection on your Astra? Near the washer motor, or closer to the fuse box itself?

On the Astra, it was right where the harness plugged into the fuse box. But frankly, given the symptoms and the error, I'd just have the car gone over at the workshop before you replace any parts.

Cheers for the advice. Took it to the shop as you suggested. Turns out it was exactly as you said: defective plug connection of the component. 95€ and everything is working again.
