Excursion ABS failure

My 2001 Ford Excursion with a gasoline engine has an ABS light, traction problems, and the ABS system is failing. Diagnostics point to a speed signal fault and a likely defective control unit. The odometer also stopped working. Has anyone dealt with this?

Dude, I think I had something similar happen in my Excursion! No idea on the build year, but my dashboard lit up. The speedo went bonkers too! Is it throwing any codes? I remember having to pull over 'cause the ABS kept kicking in for no reason. Super annoying!

Did the issue trace back to the ABS control unit? The diagnostics indicate that as a potential problem. I'm trying to understand the scope of the required repairs.

Yeah man, it was a total pain! I took it to my usual workshop. They ran a diagnostic and immediately said the ABS control unit was toast. Sadly, they were right. I think I remember the same symptoms, so it probably is that. Better get it checked!

I'm grateful for the confirmation. The workshop quoted a repair cost of 1000€. It appears a replacement of the control unit is necessary. Thank you.
