Expedition AC Problems

Interesting. When you say 'defect in one of the valves,' are we talking about something I can check myself, or is that workshop territory? I have the tools for some basic AC diagnostics, but I'm not an expert by any means.

Honestly, tracing individual valve issues without the proper tools and AC diagnostics experience is like finding a needle in a haystack. While some things are easy to fix on your own, AC systems are sealed, and tampering with them can cause more damage, not to mention releasing refrigerant. I'd say it's best to take it to a workshop. That's what I did, and they were able to pinpoint the faulty valve quickly.

Thanks for the advice. I suspected as much. I'll book it in with a workshop and let them have a look. They quoted me around 1000€ for the job. Hopefully that sorts it. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Expedition. The AC would just give up. From what I remember, the cooling system is quite complex, like a Rube Goldberg machine with all the valves and sensors it has. It could be a defect in one of the individual valves in the AC system. Have you had any AC diagnostics done?
