Expedition Fuel Tank Ventilation Issue

I am experiencing a fuel tank ventilation issue with my 2002 Ford Expedition, gasoline engine, 230290 km. The check engine light illuminates intermittently, and the engine occasionally stalls at idle. I suspect a leak in the EVAP system, possibly a defective activated charcoal filter. Has anyone encountered similar issues?

I had a similar problem with my Expedition. Check the pressure sensor and the purge valve. Could be related to airflow in the EVAP system.

Could you elaborate on the specific symptoms you experienced, and which component within the EVAP system proved to be the culprit?

Stalling at idle was the main symptom, also the check engine light. I wasn't able to pinpoint the exact leak source, so I took it to a workshop. They identified it as a defective charcoal canister.

Thank you for the information. I have since had the vehicle inspected. The issue was indeed a defective charcoal canister, resulting in a 275€ repair to the ventilation system.
