Expedition Intake Air Temperature Sensor Issue

I looked at the wiring harness and connector, but didn't see any corrosion or damage, though I didn't check super closely. It seems worse when idling for a while and when it's hot outside. Could the heat be making the sensor worse, like how electronics sometimes act up?

Heat probably is a factor. My Expedition acted like a grumpy old man on a hot day! Since you're getting error codes for the intake air temperature sensor, and it's worse when it's hot, the sensor is likely the problem. Get it checked by a technician and maybe replace the sensor.

I took your advice and went to a workshop. They said the intake air temperature sensor was bad. They replaced it and fixed the problem. It cost 155€. Thanks for the help.

I also own an Expedition and have had similar issues. It felt like the engine was breathing through a straw! Did you check the wiring harness to the intake air temperature sensor? Mine had corrosion in the connector, causing connection problems. Does it happen all the time, or only when it's cold or idling?
