Thanks for the quick reply. Regular maintenance has been performed, yes. Where exactly is the crankcase ventilation valve located, and is it something I could check myself?

While you might be able to locate it, diagnosing the problem definitively often requires specialized tools. Given the symptoms, especially the smoke, it's best to take it to a workshop. They can check the crankcase ventilation system and confirm if it's defective.

Okay, I understand. I'll take it to a trusted shop. They diagnosed a defective crankcase ventilation valve, and the repair cost was 360€. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my Expedition. The symptoms sound a lot like a crankcase ventilation valve malfunction. A leak in the crankcase ventilation can cause all sorts of problems, including emissions issues. Has the car been regularly maintained?
