Experiencing Irregular Idling, Jerky Acceleration, and Engine Light Alert in 2023 Seat Tarraco, Seeking Advice and Reliable Mechanic Recommendations

Hey fellow car enthusiasts, I've got a 2023 Seat Tarraco, gas engine, clocking in at about 135K km and she's giving me some grief. Whenever she’s idling, there's a weird shake and she jerks a bit when accelerating. The cherry on top - the check engine light is up. My gut is telling me it might be the throttle valve acting up. Just bouncing off experiences on similar issues with your motors? Any advice on a reliable mechanic would be absolutely ace given my last visit was nothing to write home about. Cheers!

Hey, Sure sounds like you're dealing with some trouble. I got a 2021 Seat Leon that was showing similar symptoms, except mine decided to kick the bucket right in the middle of a road trip - not the best timing, yeah? After a bit of trial and error at the garage, it turned out to be the Accelerator Pedal Module that was acting all wonky. They had to dig a bit deeper and sort some electronics inside that went defective. It's not something you can simply ignore, especially because the faulty pedal module gave me inconsistent acceleration and car didn't run as it should, so made driving feel like a roller coaster. Plus, with the check light on, it was definitely a serious issue which needed immediate attention, so I'd definitely say don't put this off for too long. As for a good garage, if you're in the same city as me, I'd gladly recommend the folks who fixed my car. They did a smashing job and my Leon's been running smooth as since. Hope this helps and good luck! You're gonna need it. Cheers!

Hey there, Cheers for that tip! I didn't even consider the Accelerator Pedal Module. That does sound like a bit of a roller coaster, and I definitely don't want to be stuck in the middle of a trip either. I've got a pretty similar feel with my Tarraco and with the check light being an added bonus, I reckon I'd better get it checked out sooner rather than later. Hey, if you don't mind, would you be able to recall how much it costed you to get it all fixed up? And have you been facing any other issues since then? Honestly, I'm just trying to get a rough idea of what I might be looking at here. I'd also appreciate the name of that garage if we're in the same city. Always good to have a reliable place to go to. Thanks again! Looking forward to your reply. Cheers!

Hey, Absolutely, I totally understand you wanting to get an idea of what you might be facing in terms of cost and potential future issues. The good news was that after the mechanic paid some attention to my Leon, the throttle valve fault got fixed up. I won't lie to you though, the whole thing wasn't exactly cheap as chips - it came to about 265.00 Euro to tackle the Accelerator Pedal Module along with the defective internal electronics. But I'd say every cent spent was well worth it because, since then, my car's been running like a champ with no problems. As for the garage, I'll send you a private message with their name and location. Can't beat having a reliable mechanic, yeah? Hang in there! Your Tarraco should be back to its best soon enough with the right hands working on her. Cheers!

Hello, Thanks a ton for all the info, really appreciate it! I suppose it's going to sting a bit on the pocket, but it does sound like a necessary investment if I want to get my Tarraco back in top form. Anything for a smooth ride, right? I'll be eagerly waiting for that private message with the garage details. Looking forward to having a reliable mechanic in my corner! Again, big thanks and cheers to a smooth ride! Good to have car enthusiasts like you around. Take care!
