Expert ABS Light Lateral Acceleration Sensor Error

Hi, I'm having a bit of a nightmare with my 2000 Peugeot Expert (gasoline engine). The ABS light is constantly on, and the whole ABS system seems to have given up the ghost! I scanned it and it's throwing up an error related to the lateral acceleration sensor. Has anyone else experienced this? The mileage is at 206023 km. Any ideas what I should check?

I remember something similar happening with my Expert. I also had the ABS light and error codes popping up. Was it diagnosed as a control unit issue or something else?

That's interesting! I'm not sure about the control unit, but the error message mentions the lateral acceleration sensor. Is that the same thing? Where is it located?

Yes, the lateral acceleration sensor is linked to the electronic control unit, also called ECU. This ECU might be defective and cause the fault you are mentioning. You should take it to a proper garage for a diagnostic scan.

Thanks for the info! I took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out it was a defective control unit, just like you suspected! Cost me about 1000€ to repair, but at least the ABS is working now. Appreciate the help!
