Expert Oil Pressure Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Peugeot Expert with a gasoline engine is experiencing an oil pressure warning light and mechanical noises, indicating potential low oil pressure. Initial checks for oil leakage showed no obvious issues, leading to concerns about a failing oil pump. The problem was confirmed to be a defective oil pump, which was replaced, resolving the issue and restoring smooth engine operation.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did a quick check for oil leakage, but didn't find anything obvious. Could it be something more serious, like the oil pump itself? I'm worried about the engine bearings getting damaged if the pressure is truly low.

Yeah, if you're not seeing any leaks and the light is still on, plus those noises... it might be the oil pump on its way out. Best to get it checked by a workshop before it causes major damage. I had to get mine towed.

Appreciate the advice. Turns out it was indeed the oil pump. Defect in the oil pump. It cost 755€ to get it sorted, but at least the engine is running smoothly again. Thanks again for the help!

I had a similar issue with my Peugeot Expert. I'm not sure about the year model, but it also had oil pressure issues. Have you checked for any oil leakage? Could be a simple fix, but low oil pressure is never a good sign.
