Expert Overheating Electric Fan

I had a similar problem with my old Vauxhall Astra, albeit a petrol model. Overheating issues can be quite concerning. Have you checked the fan clutch? That was the culprit in my case. Also, consider inspecting the electric motor itself for any signs of damage or wear. Radiator fan issues can often stem from simple electrical faults.

Thanks for the swift reply! When you say fan clutch, do you mean the viscous coupling type, or is there something specific on the electric fan setup I should be looking for? And how did you diagnose the electric motor itself?

While the viscous coupling is more common in rear-wheel-drive vehicles, some front-wheel-drive vehicles, like your Expert, may incorporate a similar mechanism or a direct electric fan motor. Given your symptoms, I would recommend you visit a workshop to have it diagnosed. Continuing to run the engine while overheating will cause damage.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a workshop. You were spot on, it was a dodgy connection. They replaced the plug, cost 95€ all in. All sorted now!
