Thanks for the quick reply. When you say check the wiring harness and door sensor, what specific areas should I focus on? Any connectors or vulnerable points I should know about?

Well, the corrosion in my case was near where the wiring harness enters the door from the car body. It's a flexible joint, so it gets wear and tear. But without diagnostic tools, it's hard to pinpoint. If you're not comfortable with electrical work, I'd take it to a workshop. It could save you time and headaches.

I took your advice and visited a workshop. The technicians confirmed a defective door contact signal due to a faulty cable connection. The repair cost 95€. Thanks for your help; your insights guided me to a quick fix.

Interesting. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra, though it showed up differently. The car alarm would randomly go off. Turned out to be a corroded wire in the door wiring harness sending false signals. Have you checked the wiring harness and the door sensor for damage or corrosion? That's where I'd start.
