Explorer IAT Sensor Error

My 2005 Ford Explorer with a gasoline engine is throwing me for a loop. Check engine light is on, and I'm experiencing reduced power and rough running. I ran a diagnostic tool and it's showing an intake air temperature (IAT) sensor error. Seems like a defective IAT sensor could be the culprit. Anyone else run into this?

Sounds familiar. Have you checked the wiring and connections to the IAT sensor? Sometimes it's just a loose or corroded connector causing the issue.

Yeah, I checked the connections, seemed okay at first glance. Is there a way to test the sensor itself to be sure before replacing it?

You could test the sensor with a multimeter, but honestly, for the age of the vehicle and the symptoms you're describing, it's likely the sensor itself. Considering the cost of a new sensor and potential for further issues, it might be best to get it checked out by a workshop.

Appreciate the advice. Ended up just replacing the IAT sensor at a local shop. Cost me 155€, but everything is running smoothly now. Thanks!
