Yeah, I tried the spare key, same thing. I'm thinking the key itself is fine, maybe the car just forgot the key programming, or something glitched out. Is that what happened with your Astra?

Could be, yeah. With my Astra, the keys seemed fine, but it turned out the car's computer had a hiccup and lost the key info. Honestly, after messing with it for a while, I just took it to a shop and they sorted it out with their fancy computer. Saved me a ton of headache.

Ugh, sounds like I'm heading down that road too. I was hoping to avoid the shop, but I think you're right. Just got back from the workshop, they reprogrammed the key for 45€ and now it works again, thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, wouldn't start randomly. An immobilizer is basically an electronic anti-theft system that prevents the engine from running unless the correct key is present. The car's computer verifies a code transmitted by the key. If the code doesn't match, the fuel supply or ignition is cut off. Did you try your spare key?
