F Type Washer System Failure: Dual System Mystery Fix

Having issues with my 2022 F Type washer system, both windshield and headlight cleaning stopped working completely. The washer fluid tank is full but nothing happens when activating either system. Could the headlight washer malfunction be connected to the windshield washer not working? Checked fuses and they seem fine. Looking for tips from others who faced similar issues, what was the root cause in your case and how was it fixed? Particularly interested in knowing if there might be a clogged hose or pump issue somewhere in the system. Any repair costs I should prepare for?

Had nearly the same fault with my 2020 F Pace last winter, both washer systems stopped at once. As someone with moderate experience working on cars, I first suspected a frozen system but that wasnt it. After some basic checks like fuses and fluid levels, took it to the workshop. They found a faulty connection between the washer pump and its relay. The cables had corroded over time causing a complete system malfunction. Both the windshield and headlight washers use the same pump setup, which explains why both failed simultaneously. The repair cost me 165€ including diagnosis and fixing the connection. Since then, no issues with either system. The leak test they performed showed everything else was working properly. What year and engine variant is your F Type? This could help narrow down if its the same setup. Also, do you hear any sound from the pump when you try to activate the washers? This detail would help determine if its an electrical fault or mechanical issue. Worth checking if theres any pump activity, sometimes you can hear it trying to work even if no fluid comes out. This helps identify if its an electrical connection issue like mine or potentially a blocked line.

Had the exact same issue at 127302 KM. The fault affected both washer systems simultaneously. Turns out the headlight cleaning system and windshield washers shared the same pump, which was the root cause of the malfunction. The repair involved cleaning the pump connections and replacing a corroded relay. Service center did a complete system flush to remove any debris. Total repair came to 290€. Make sure to listen for pump sounds when activating, this helps identify if its an electrical or mechanical problem. In my case, there was no sound at all, pointing to the electrical fault. This seems like a common issue on these models, especially when both systems fail at once. Having regular maintenance checks helps prevent these types of failures.

Thanks for sharing your repair experience. When this happened on my F Pace, the technicians also mentioned these simultaneous washer system failures are pretty typical for our models. The shared pump setup between headlight cleaning and windshield systems makes them vulnerable to complete malfunction when electrical issues occur. After my repair, they recommended regular system maintenance to prevent future problems. This includes cleaning the washer nozzles every few months and running the system regularly in winter to prevent clog formation. Since having the corroded connections fixed, I make sure to use the headlight cleaning system at least monthly to keep everything flowing properly. The absence of pump noise in your case matches exactly what I experienced, complete electrical silence when trying to activate either system. Good call on getting the system flush done along with the repair. A full clean-out helps prevent any debris from causing future blockages. Your repair cost was higher than mine, but the additional system flush was worth it for long-term reliability. Have you noticed any improvement in spray pattern since the repair? My washer performance actually got better after they cleaned out the whole system.

Thanks for the detailed feedback about the repair. My F Type is a 2022 V8 model. After checking again today, there is absolutely no sound when trying to activate either the windshield or headlight washer system. The complete silence matches your experience with the electrical fault. Just scheduled a service appointment to have it checked. Given both systems stopped working simultaneously and theres no pump noise, its likely the same electrical connection malfunction you experienced. Will make sure they check the pump relay and connections first before looking into other potential issues. Good to know about the system flush, will request that as part of the service to prevent future problems. The 290€ repair cost you mentioned helps set realistic expectations for what Im looking at. Hopefully catching this early before any major leak or system damage develops will keep the repair costs similar. Makes sense that both systems failed together since they share components. Will definitely implement regular maintenance checks going forward to avoid another complete system malfunction. Thanks for helping narrow down the likely cause.
