Fiat 124 AC Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Fiat 124 with a gasoline engine has an AC system that stopped working, failing to cool or switch on. The fuses were checked and found to be fine, ruling out a simple electrical issue. A potential cause suggested was faulty valves within the AC system, similar to a previous case with a different vehicle. Upon professional inspection, defective valves were indeed identified as the problem, confirming the initial suspicion.

No unusual noises from the compressor, and the blower seemed normal before it died. I haven't seen any oily residue or smelled anything that would suggest a refrigerant leak. What was the issue with your Volvo?

In my case, it was faulty valves inside the AC system. A Volvo specialist found it after running AC diagnostics. Since you've checked the fuses and don't suspect a leak, it could be a similar valve issue in your Fiat. I'd recommend getting a qualified technician to give the AC system a thorough check.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and they found defective valves, just like you thought. The repair will be 1000€. Thanks again for your help.

I had a similar problem with my 2016 Volvo a few years back. The climate control just quit. Did you notice any weird noises from the AC compressor or a drop in blower motor performance before it failed? Any oily residue or smells inside the car that could point to a refrigerant leak?
