Fiat 124 check engine light vacuum leak
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Fiat 124 Spider owner experienced a check engine light issue, suspecting a vacuum leak due to off manifold pressure and potential air valve problems. A suggestion was made to inspect the hose connection from the pump to the air valve, as cracks or detachment could cause a vacuum leak. After checking, a cracked hose was confirmed and replaced, resolving the issue and eliminating the check engine light.

Fuel trims, eh? Hmmm, I haven't checked those yet. Where exactly is this hose located? Is it easy to get to, or am I going to need to contort myself into a pretzel to get a look? Also, did you notice any other weird symptoms besides the light?

Yeah, it's a bit of a pain to reach, tucked away near the back of the engine, but you can get to it with some patience. I didn't notice much else besides the light and some rough idling, but the fuel trims were way off. Honestly, if you're not comfortable messing with it, take it to a workshop. It could save you a bigger headache down the road.

Thanks a bunch for the tip! Turns out, you were spot-on about that hose. Took it to a local shop, and they confirmed it was cracked. New hose installed, and the check engine light is gone! Cost me 175€, but totally worth it for the peace of mind.

Dude, I had a similar headache with my 124! Check the hose connection from the pump to the air valve. I've seen those hoses crack or become detached, causing a vacuum leak. This messed up my engine readings big time. What are your long and short term fuel trims doing?
