Fiat 124 cold start issue
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Fiat 124 with a gasoline engine is experiencing difficulty starting when cold, running poorly during the initial phase. The issue may be related to a faulty cold start injector or injection valve. While injector cleaning was considered, it was suggested to have the fuel rail and injectors inspected by a workshop. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be the injector, which was repaired.

The engine runs quite rough when it finally starts. I have not yet tried any injector cleaner. I was contemplating whether the issue might stem from a defective injection valve. Is this a possibility or should I proceed with an injector cleaning first?

Yeah, sounds just like what happened to mine. Cleaning didn't cut it, sadly. Valve was the culprit. To be honest, I'd just take it to a workshop and have them check the whole fuel rail. Will save you time and headache.

I appreciate the confirmation and advice. I will schedule an appointment with a trusted workshop to have the fuel rail and injectors inspected thoroughly. It was indeed the injector, and the repair set me back approximately 515€. Thanks again for your help!

Hey! I had similar starting issues on my 124. Is it kinda rough when it finally kicks over? Could be a fuel delivery thing. Have you tried any injector cleaner?
