The code does point directly to the intake air temperature sensor. I've visually inspected the wiring and connectors, but haven't done any in-depth testing. What kind of readings should I be expecting from the sensor, if I were to test it with a multimeter?

Without knowing the exact specs for your car, giving you specific readings would be difficult. But since the code is specifically for that sensor and you have those symptoms, and you've checked the wiring, it probably is the sensor. Maybe it's time to have it looked at by a workshop?

Thanks for the input. Took it to the shop, and you were right. Replaced the intake air temperature sensor, and everything's back to normal. Cost me 155€ Appreciate the help!

Sounds plausible. Is the error code pointing specifically to the intake air temperature sensor? Have you checked the wiring and connections to the sensor itself? A loose or corroded connector could cause similar problems.
