Fiat 124 Oil Contamination
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Fiat 124 Spider with a gasoline engine experienced oil contamination at 192,934 kilometers, leading to warning lights for the speedometer and oil pressure. The likely cause was overdue maintenance, potentially resulting in oil sludge and a clogged filter. The recommended solution was to promptly visit a workshop for an oil and filter change, which resolved the issue.

The engine's performance seems unaffected, and I detect no unusual noises. I have refrained from using oil additives. Could you elaborate on the 'gunk buildup' you encountered?

Sure thing. Mine was pretty bad because I let the oil changes go way too long. The oil filter was completely clogged, and the oil itself looked like sludge. That's probably what's triggering your warning lights. Honestly, just get it to a workshop ASAP. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to oil pressure.

I'll take the vehicle to a qualified workshop promptly. It appears the overdue maintenance was indeed the culprit. An oil and filter change, along with a thorough inspection, has resolved the issue, costing approximately 165€.

Hey! That sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my 124. Was the car feeling sluggish at all, or did you notice any weird noises? I'm wondering if you might have some gunk buildup. Have you been using any oil additives lately?
