Fiat 500 door lock unlock issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Fiat 500 diesel is experiencing a door lock and unlock issue, suspected to be caused by a faulty door contact signal. The fuses have been checked and are fine, leading to the suspicion of a defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue was resolved by checking the wiring harness behind the door panel, and it was recommended to have a workshop handle the repair to avoid further complications. The problem was confirmed to be a defective connection and was fixed for 95€.

Thanks for the quick response! No, the car alarm isn't going off, which is weird. Where exactly should I be looking at the wiring harness? Is it easy to access, or do I need to remove the door panel?

Okay, if the alarm isn't triggering, maybe it's not exactly the same issue. In my case, it was like a bad lightbulb dimly lit. The wiring harness is behind the door panel I'm afraid. If you are not confident messing with electrics, my advice: get it checked by a workshop. It cost me around 95€ to get it fixed, not worth the risk to create more problems.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! I'll take it to a workshop. They confirmed it was a defective connection and fixed it for 95€, just like you said.

Sounds familiar! I had something similar with my Fiat 500. Is your car alarm going off randomly too? For me it was the door sensor. Did you check the wiring harness where it goes into the door?
