BMW AUC... is that the same thing? I guess I should check the connection, but where do I even look for it? Is it easy to get to?

Yes, AUC sensor is a common term. I'm no expert, but if the plug is defective or damaged, there's probably not much you can do besides going to the workshop.

Thanks! Took it to the garage and they said the cable or plug connection was defective, just like you said. They fixed it, cost 95€. All good now!

Sounds familiar. Had the same thing with my old BMW. The auto recirculation wasn't working because of the odor sensor. Have you checked the cable or plug connection?
