Signal amplifier? Where would I find that? And yeah, it's a mix of both – lots of static, and sometimes the signal vanishes. Could that still be the amplifier?

Could be. When mine went bad, it did all sorts of funky stuff. Honestly, with all the vehicle electronics these days, it's probably best to get it checked. Saved me a lot of headache.

Appreciate the tip! I took it to the shop; turns out the antenna was defective. A new one and 255€ later, and it's all sorted. Thanks again!

That's weird. I had something similar in my old Opel Corsa, but it was a different issue. You checked the signal amplifier, right? Sometimes those go bad. Is it mostly static noise, or does the FM signal just disappear?
