Thanks! I'll check the battery charge level. But could a heavily discharged battery really cause the engine to shut down completely like that? And would it show up as a generic high-voltage system error? Is electrical fault a reasonable suspicion?

Yeah, it was weird. The car basically thought it was dying. The system malfunctioned completely. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, and they said the battery was defective. Cost about 290€ to fix. Worth getting it checked, especially with those symptoms.

Thanks a lot! This is very helpful. I'll get it checked out by a professional. Sounds like a defective battery is the most likely cause, and your experience confirms it. At least I have a direction to go in!

Hey, I've got a Fiat 500 too, although not sure of the year. I had something similar happen last year. Kept getting battery warnings and reduced power. Have you checked the battery's charge level? Could be an EV problem?
